You know that moment when your dog comes racing across the flat at the mere rustle of a bag? Cookies Laden exists for exactly those moments: a dog treat specialist from Hanover with a founding story that is much more personal than the name suggests.
We take a look at the range, sustainability and prices.
What is Cookies Laden, and where does the name come from?
Behind Cookies Laden is Natascha Gädeke, a trained animal physiotherapist. Her dog Cookie came to her second hand and soon suffered from distressing skin problems. Only after a long search for the cause did it turn out that a food allergy was behind it: Cookie reacted to many common ingredients.
Cookies Laden grew out of the search for treats her own dog could truly tolerate. So the name ("Laden" means shop) is a direct tribute to the dog who inspired it.
More than an online shop: the dog centre in Hanover
Cookies Laden is not a purely online brand, but also a real store at Gusindeweg 6 in Hanover, open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. On site you can look at treats and chews and pick up online orders.

Range: natural treats and chews
The core of the range is natural chews and treats, sorted by protein source such as beef, poultry, fish, lamb, pork, game or rabbit, plus vegetarian and freeze-dried options. Besides classic chews like beef scalp or lamb ears, there is the Cookies training sausage in versions with rice or tapioca, plus smoothies, liver sausage and Qchefs for dental care.
For dogs with special needs there are separate categories for low-fat treats with under 6 percent fat and low-purine options, which are also suitable for dogs with leishmaniasis. All treats are made in Germany and the EU, packed completely plastic-free in paper and shipped in reused, recycled boxes.
Food and accessories too
In the shop you will also find wet food, dry food and dried raw food from several brands, including Tales & Tails and Escapure, plus accessories, clothing, bowls and toys. Still, the heart of the brand is clearly the natural treats and chews.
Who is Cookies Laden right for?
Cookies Laden is a particularly good fit for owners looking for single, clearly declared protein sources for a dog with a food intolerance. After all, that was the original motivation behind the brand. If you live in or around Hanover, a visit in person is worth it too, including the dog wash and the physiotherapy services.
