- Exemption on application: dogs temporarily in an animal shelter, assistance dogs; dog from Tierheim München (adopted after 1 January 2024): tax free for 2 years after 1 year of ownership; Hundeführerschein (dog owner's licence): tax free for the following year (once per dog). Waiver in cases of financial hardship. Kampfhunde (listed dogs) excluded.
- Notes
- Bylaw of 3 September 2021 (last amended 4 December 2024): €100 per dog, €800 per Kampfhund (listed dog), no tiering (dog2 = dog3plus = dog1). PLEASE NOTE: from 2027, following the city council decision of 29 July 2026: €144 per dog, €1,200 per Kampfhund, due on 1 April. The latest version of the bylaw (version5) could not be retrieved.
