What is SmoothieDog?
The SmoothieDog story began in 2018 in a double garage in Heilbronn. There, the married couple Stephan and Nelly Nagel, who come from the restaurant business, tried out the first recipes for healthy dog smoothies. In 2019 they turned this into G.O.A.T. GmbH, and Felix Schöfinius joined shortly afterwards.
In 2020, Nelly Nagel and Felix Schöfinius trained together as nutrition consultants specialising in dogs, to develop the recipes on a solid basis. Today SmoothieDog is available in about 1,000 stores in Germany, and since 2022 also at Fressnapf.
Ingredients: muscle meat instead of slaughter by-products
SmoothieDog advertises that it uses only muscle meat instead of slaughter by-products, completely without sugar, grain, artificial flavours, colourings or preservatives. All ingredients are declared with exact percentages.
The Immunio flavour, for example, is made from meat broth with beef (61.9 percent), additional beef (23.1 percent), beetroot, potato, apple, raspberries, St John's wort, desiccated coconut, turmeric and rose hips.

How to use the smoothies
A smoothie works well as a topper on your usual BARF or wet food. This adds extra moisture and variety to the bowl, especially for dogs that drink too little overall. It also works as a small reward in between or after exercise.
